Cette oeuvre est un nouvel exemple illustrant le parcours du spectateur\u00a0: \u00e0 mesure qu\u2019il s\u2019approche, elle se d\u00e9voile, suivie de son lot de surprises et d'interrogations. Tout dans cette installation s\u2019oppose\u00a0: forme et mati\u00e8re, sens et interpr\u00e9tation. Les id\u00e9es se bousculent, tant cette pi\u00e8ce l\u00e9g\u00e8re et gracile est \u00e9vocatrice. Le dispositif de pr\u00e9sentation place l'oeuvre \u00e0 hauteur du regard, incitant naturellement le spectateur \u00e0 jauger la silhouette, \u00e0 se confronter \u00e0 elle. L\u2019art d\u00e9licat de la dentelle, ainsi fig\u00e9e dans le temps et l\u2019espace, engendre un moment suspendu dans un \u00e9tonnant face \u00e0 face. Pendant que la proximit\u00e9 avec l\u2019\u0153uvre s\u2019\u00e9tablit, s\u2019invite tout \u00e0 coup l\u2019\u00e9vidence\u00a0: cette forme flottante est celle d'un cr\u00e2ne. Celui d\u2019un animal. Un porc. Soudainement, Omnia Vanitas perturbe le regard, envahit par de nouvelles r\u00e9f\u00e9rences. En effet, l'animal n\u2019a pas bonne presse, la langue fran\u00e7aise regorge d\u2019expressions avec la b\u00eate comme bouc \u00e9missaire. Et pourtant, la contigu\u00eft\u00e9 entre l\u2019homme et elle en fait un de ses reflets les plus anatomiquement et physiologiquement voisins. En douceur, le spectateur constate alors malgr\u00e9 lui qu'il contemple un proche parent, un cong\u00e9n\u00e8re mammif\u00e8re... Le raffinement de la mati\u00e8re r\u00e9concilie enfin la forme et le fond, et l'oeil renoue avec cet ouvrage a\u00e9rien aux antipodes du sentiment ambivalent provoqu\u00e9 par l'animal. Et puis Omnia Vanitas, les mots, rattrapent le spectateur. Non sans ironie, c'est ainsi que Val\u00e9rie Vaubourg a baptis\u00e9 ce nouveau travail, mots extraits de la fameuse sentence \u00ab Vanitas vanitatum, et omnia vanitas\u00a0\u00bb, \u00ab\u00a0Vanit\u00e9 des vanit\u00e9s, tout est vanit\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb. Le mot \u00ab\u00a0Omnia\u00a0\u00bb produit immanquablement une sorte de confusion phon\u00e9tique avec le mot \u00ab\u00a0homme\u00a0\u00bb. Avec simplicit\u00e9 et malice, l'artiste renoue avec l'histoire et formule un anthropomorphisme d\u00e9routant : l'Homme est animal ? L'homme est vanit\u00e9\u00a0? C'est un pas de plus pour le spectateur, ainsi projet\u00e9 dans ses propres contradictions.
